Multiplex

A term describing the interleaving of multple signals together into a single signal. Multiplexing is often shortened even further to the term "muxing" and a pertient example of muxing is the conversion of MPEG-2 program or elementary streams into an MPEG-2 transport stream for broadcast delivery.
