CDN

Content Delivery Networks are a distributed system of network transport and servers designed to deliver large files to a majority of users across multiple internet service providers. A CDN consists of a central bank of servers, close to the network core, and a series of edge devices near select internet exchange and customer premise locations. Examples of large files can be software update, electronic delivery of applications, or streaming video files.
