ATM

A networking protocol designed to move multimedia data around with high reliability and speed. Some ISPs use ATM as the protocol for their backbones. Unlike Ethernet, which supports speeds of up to 100Mbps, ATM allows a bandwidth of 25Mbps to 622Mbps. Uses variable-sized packets.
