A progressive display resolution that uses a 576 pixel wide resolution (with 16:9 aspect ratio) at a variety of frame and field rates for PAL- and SECAM-compliant standard-definition digital broadcasts. By contrast, for analog broadcast, 576i or interlaced is referred to as 625/50 or 625 lines and uses a 4:3 aspect ratio.
