My Damn Channel Expands with Comedy Network

Humorous video site My Damn Channel announced a major expansion today as it launches its own multi-channel comedy network. The My Damn Channel Comedy Network and its YouTube channels will premiere hundreds of new comedy series this year.

To round up content for this venture, My Damn Chanel is signing creators to one-year non-exclusive licensing and distribution agreements. My Damn Channel and the creators will split the revenue, with My Damn Channel shouldering the costs of distribution, marketing, and social media support. My Damn Channel hasn't yet announced which creators it will be working with.

Joining the effort is Eric Mortensen, formerly senior director or content and network programming at Blip. Mortensen takes the newly created title of director of programming and acquisitions. Besides building up content, My Damn Channel will work this year to grow a large and loyal audience, which can be a challenge with online video.

This expansion comes after a successful year for My Damn Channel. It enjoyed a 300 percent increase in revenue, a 366 percent increase in YouTube subscriptions, and a 91 percent increase in video views across all properties.

Comedy creators looking for distribution should visit MyDamnChannel.com/Comedy-Network, where they'll find instructions and an introductory video.
