Mediasite Events by Sonic Foundry to Record Business Best Practices & Emerging Technologies Conference for On-Demand Viewing

Mediasite webcasts facilitate peer-to-peer learning among leading Wisconsin companies at University of Wisconsin E-Business Consortium event

Madison, Wisconsin(26 Sep 2012)

Madison, Wisconsin will play host to more than 550 business professionals next week for the 14th annual Business Best Practices & Emerging Technologies Conference. But thanks to Sonic Foundry, Inc. (NASDAQ: SOFO), the trusted market leader for video management and academic, enterprise and event webcasting, the conference, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-E Business Consortium (UWEBC), will extend far beyond the confines of the convention center.

Registered marketing, IT, supply chain management, customer service and sales operations professionals unable to attend the conference on October 4 will be able to watch sessions after the event on-demand regardless of time and location. Attendees can also go back and review what they learned, because the event will be webcast by Mediasite Events by Sonic Foundry.

Since 1998, the UWEBC has brought together executives, managers and senior practitioners from leading Wisconsin companies to learn from each other. Three Wisconsin governors have recognized the UWEBC as a model of university-collaboration advancing the competitiveness of Wisconsin business and the health of Wisconsin’s economy. The annual conference is the sole public event hosted by the UWEBC and is Wisconsin’s premier thought-leadership conference. All plenary and featured sessions will be webcast and available on-demand for conference attendees and UWEBC members. Mediasite 6 will be used to stream the sessions, allowing attendees to watch from their mobile devices or desktops.

“Webcasting our conference via Mediasite allows conference attendees to go back at any time and review what they learned. Plus, having conference recordings means business professionals unable to attend the conference on-site can register to watch them on-demand. We’re reaching many more people by using Mediasite, and we’re happy to continue our partnership with Sonic Foundry,” said Dr. Raj Veeramani, Robert Ratner Chair Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Executive Director of the UWEBC, and the UW E-Business Institute.

Plenary speakers are Dr. Veeramani, as well as Erica Gruen, a renowned brand builder, marketer and digital-media thought leader at Quantum Media and the former president/CEO of The Food Network.

Mediasite Events is a leading provider of event webcasting for hybrid events and high-profile meetings.
