Adtec Partners with Encompass to Support MLB Network's Coverage of the 2013 MLB All Star Game

Nashville, Tennessee(10 Jul 2013)

Adtec Digital today announced its partnership with Encompass Digital Media to exclusively provide compression solutions for MLB Network’s coverage of the 2013 All-Star Game to take place at New York’s Citi Field on July 16, 2013. In addition, Adtec will provide compression, multiplexing and decoding for MLB Network’s exclusive telecast of the MLB All-Star Red Carpet Show earlier that day.

“When Encompass was awarded the worldwide distribution services for MLB Network at the All-Star Game, it was essential to select a strategic partner with a proven track record. Given MLB Network’s technical requirements, Adtec was the perfect choice to fulfill all of the compression service needs,” states Greg Jennings, vice president of Transportables and Production Services of Encompass. Encompass is providing MLB Network with global distribution services via its New York, Stamford, Atlanta and Singapore facilities.

Kevin Ancelin, SVP sales and Adtec Digital Co-Founder explains the configuration of systems in place, “We will have 10 HD paths from Citi Field for the All-Star Game and four HD paths from Bryant Park for the MLB All-Star Red Carpet Show. Multiplexing will be done by the DTA-3050 and transmission will feed the live broadcast globally. Two dozen Adtec RD-60 IRDs will be used between both locations to provide broadcast quality confidence decoding of the local compression and for return paths from the studio to the event for both the Red Carpet Show and All-Star Game.”

“We have worked hard to build a relationship with Encompass and MLB Network and are honored that they are confident in using Adtec’s award-winning tier one contribution platform exclusively for their coverage of this year’s MLB All-Star Game,” adds Brian Adair, Adtec key accounts manager.

Adtec's industry-leading, end-to-end contribution solutions are used daily around the globe by tier one operators. Adtec contribution solutions offer field proven interoperability with IRDs from many other vendors, are feature-rich, easy to use, and reliable, and offer the best value in the industry.
