It seems simple enough—you push up the fader to make the audio louder, and off you go, right? But how do you mix line- level inputs and microphones? How do you set input gain? When do you choose professional versus consumer line level? Do you use the EQ to maximize intelligibility, or minimize feedback? Do you use Aux sends to feed your streaming feed differently than the house? Do you send Aux audio pre- or post- fader?
The techniques we’ll explore in this session apply to the vast majority of audio mixers out today. Every knob on a mixer has a very important purpose, and knowing how you can best leverage all the ins and outs of this seemingly basic tool can take you from audio ingenue to audio ninja.
