Tutorial: Delivering to Internet and Intranet Viewers with the DVEO Magnus Anytime Family of Products

This tutorial explores the workflow and application of the DVEO Magnus Anytime family of products, which combine high-density H.264 encoding and an integrated streaming server for multiple screen delivery both inside and outside your firewall.

Enabling Broadcasting

To set up broadcasting, we have to enter the MPEG2-TS Live page and make sure that MPEG2-TS input is enabled (Figure 13, below). Since we’ve selected Enable All Bit Rates in this same tab, all streams will be received and rebroadcasted. The Flash and RTSP streams are created automatically from this input.

To enable HLS, click, select HLS Setup in the nav bar on the left side of the interface, type in the server Hostname IP address, and enable the source path you set up in the encoder--in this case, /mpts live/ (Figure 14, below). This is a one-time configuration ; next time you stream using the same inputs, HLS output will be automatic.

Scroll down and note the three options shown in Figure 15 (below) for Segment Encryption.

Configuring DASH

Configuring DASH (Figure 16, below) is very similar to configuring HLS. If you have a DASH-compatible player ready, you should be good to go.

And, you can create an archive version for later reuse (Figure 17, below).
