Zacuto Debuts 'World's First' Clip-On Camera-Rig Battery System

Every second counts on set, and the new Gripper Series batteries are here to not only save filmmakers time, but also weight, space, and money! The Gripper Series are the first line of batteries specifically designed for use on professional camera rigs without the need for any additional brackets or clamps. They snap directly on 15mm rods offering a hassle free power option at half the weight and cost of traditional external battery systems.

Zacuto is partnering with Hawk-Woods manufacturing, a broadcast equipment company located in England, to distribute the Gripper Series. Zacuto offers worldwide distribution through their dealer network and direct at the Zacuto store.

Easily power a camera and multiple accessories like monitors, viewfinders, and more. Gripper batteries are ideal for shooters using the Zacuto Gratical Eye SDI Micro-OLED EVF, which requires external batteries. Whether a filmmaker is just starting to transition to external batteries or looking to add options to a current set up, a clip on Gripper battery is an easy addition to any kit.

There are two options available, a 75Wh and 100Wh battery, covering the various needs of camera operators.  Each battery is equipped with two powertap outputs as standard and can easily be increased by plugging in a 4 way Gripper adaptor to either output. Gripper batteries were designed using high impact ABS casing, fitted with premium Lithium-Ion cells, which in turn are backed up by the latest in protection systems to guarantee a long and reliable performance over many years.

Both the 75Wh and 100Wh batteries plus a single Fast Charger are available for preorder now and will be shipping July 1st, 2016. More accessories like a dual charger coming soon!
