New NETINT Video Transcoding Server Delivers 80 Live 1080p HEVC & H.264 Streams

The US $8,900 NETINT Video Transcoding Server is now shipping and provides an ultra-cost-efficient solution for high-volume interactive streaming applications, services, and platforms. Powered by ten Codensity T408 video transcoders that encode and decode HEVC and H.264 in normal or low latency mode, the NETINT Video Transcoding Server is a drop-in replacement for traditional FFmpeg-based software or GPU-based encoding stacks.

Ultra-High Volume with Ultra Low Power 

 

The 1RU Supermicro 1114S-WN10RT with AMD EPYC 7543P can encode (qty 20) 4K30 streams, (qty 80) 1080p30 streams, or up to (qty 170) 720p30 at only $53 per 720p stream with no additional recurring software license fee. The cost is the same for both H.264 and HEVC codecs, live or file-based operation. 

 

For ABR streaming requirements, the server can output up to 30 five-rung H.264 encoding ladders and up to 28 four-rung HEVC encoding ladders with normal latency while drawing under 325 watts of total power. UHD streaming services will see throughput of up to seven 6-rung 4K HEVC encoding ladders in SDR or HDR modes. This performance makes the server an excellent solution for engineers seeking to increase their transcoding capacity while shrinking the number of required servers and associated power bills.

 

The NETINT Video Transcoding Server supports FFmpeg, GStreamer, and APIs for simple integration. Power comes from a 32-core AMD EPYC 7543P CPU Series Processor running Ubuntu 20.04.05 LTS. Standard configuration includes 256 GB of DDR4-3200 RAM, a 400GB M.2 SSD drive, three PCIe slots, and ten NVME slots housing the included ten Codensity T408 video transcoders.
