Matrox to Showcase New Broadcast Streaming and Recording Appliance, Multi-camera Recording App at IBC2015

Matrox Video will feature the award-winning new Monarch HDX dual-channel H.264 encoder for broadcast streaming and recording and the VS4Recoder Pro multi-camera recording app

At IBC2015 (Amsterdam, Sept. 11–15, stand 7.B29), Matrox® Video will feature the award-winning new Monarch HDX dual-channel H.264 encoder for broadcast streaming and recording and the VS4Recoder Pro multi-camera recording app.  In addition Matrox DSX™ Developer Products will be presented, including the new Matrox M264 multi-channel 4:2:2 10-bit H.264 encoder card.

Matrox Monarch HDX — Dual-Channel H.264 Encoder

Matrox Monarch HDX is a compact, easy-to-use, dual-channel H.264 encoding appliance. Designed for complete workflow flexibility, Monarch HDX features 3G-SDI and HDMI inputs with frame synchronization to compensate for unstable sources. Two independent H.264 encoders provide redundancy or can be set to stream and/or record at individual settings. Monarch HDX is packed with features that make it ideal for broadcasters, event producers, medical facilities, CDNs, educational institutions, houses of worship, corporate communicators and legal videographers. From any SDI or HDMI input source such as a camera or switcher, Matrox Monarch HDX generates two H.264-encoded video streams at bitrates from 200 Kbps to 30 Mbps. Powerful scaling, deinterlacing and noise reduction engines ensure only pristine images are sent to the encoders. For streaming purposes, the encoders use either RTMP or RTSP protocol to deliver live streams to local or cloud-based media servers. In recording applications, the encoders write MP4 or MOV files to local USB drives, SD cards or network-mapped drives for post-event editing or archiving. An additional, dedicated H.264 encoder provides remote preview of the input.

VS4Recorder Pro — Multi-camera Recording App

VS4Recorder Pro is designed for use with Matrox VS4™ quad HD capture cards. Each VS4Recorder Pro system frame-accurately captures up to four video and audio inputs to create files for use with popular editing apps from Adobe, Apple and Avid and for archiving. H.264 is provided in either MOV or MP4 wrappers. AVI files can be created using the high-quality Matrox MPEG 2 I-Frame codec. MOV QuickTime files can be created using DV, DVCPRO, DVCPRO50 and DVCPRO HD. VS4Recorder Pro also functions as a multiviewer, offering pristine video quality even when monitoring interlaced sources on progressive computer monitors. VS4-based systems are also ideal for multi-camera live production streaming with Telestream® Wirecast® for Windows®.

Matrox DSX — Developer Products

Matrox DSX Developer Products combine a full range of multi-channel SD/HD/4K I/O cards including the new X.mio3 and DSX LE4 families plus the high-density M264 family of H.264 encoding cards with feature-rich Windows and Linux SDKs and powerful tools for quick app development. Matrox technology enables OEMs to create advanced broadcast graphics systems, video servers, channel-in-a-box equipment, contribution and distribution encoders, and non-linear editing systems that provide 24/7 reliability in even the most demanding environments. Premium hardware features include multiple motion adaptive de-interlacers, up/down/cross converters and video compositors. A constantly expanding selection of codecs (DVCPRO HD, MPEG-2, XDCAM HD AVC-Intra, H.264, Apple ProRes, Avid DNxHD, PitchBlue, and more) and extensive file format support (GXF, MXF, MOV, AVI, MPG, MP4, and more) meet evolving needs.
