JVC Demos New JVC VIDEOCLOUD Online Video and Live Streaming Platform

JVC VIDEOCLOUD is a complete acquisition-to-streaming distribution solution designed for small and medium-sized enterprises, including local governments, schools, and wedding videographers

JVC Professional Video, a division of JVCKENWOOD USA Corporation, will demonstrate its new JVC VIDEOCLOUD online video and live streaming platform, new fiber studio system for its GY-HM890 ProHD cameras, and a number of other products and services at the Government Video Expo 2016 (Booth 102), which runs Dec. 7-8 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.

Introduced last month, JVC VIDEOCLOUD is a complete acquisition-to-streaming distribution solution designed for small and medium-sized enterprises, including local governments, schools, and wedding videographers. With its browser-based content management system and customization tools, JVC VIDEOCLOUD is an ideal complement to JVC's PTZ cameras and professional camcorders with built-in HD streaming and RTMP support. Users have a choice of pricing plans, including a free option that provides one live channel and 50 viewer hours per month.

JVC is now shipping its new FS-900 fiber optic camera control system built exclusively for JVC by MultiDyne Video & Fiber-Optic Systems. The new FS-900 not only supports 3G-SDI 1080p/60 camera feeds and returns, but uses the camera’s built-in streaming engine for video-over-IP functionality. Its high quality 1080p video signals are ideal for webcasts, virtual sets, and image magnification (I-MAG) applications, and the system easily integrates with any studio, mobile truck or portable flypack.

The camera module, which connects directly to the back of GY-HM890 camcorder, transports multiple bi-directional 3G-SDI signals as well as control, audio, sync, and intercom between the camera and the FS-900 Base Station. Up to three cameras are supported by one Base Station, which provides a more cost efficient solution than other multi-camera solutions. Plus, with built-in gigabit Ethernet, the 2 RU Base Station allows video-over-IP, control, and advanced configuration.

Also on display is the recently announced ProHD Wireless Bridgea video-over-IP solution for multi-camera live broadcasts that exceeds the performance of typical bonded solutions. Compatible with JVC’s ProHD and 4KCAM streaming camera models, the system includes a transceiver for every camera that operates up to 2,000 feet from the vehicle-mounted base station. The vehicle essentially becomes a remote broadcasting hub that creates a virtual private network (VPN) to securely transmit camera signals. JVC also offers a subscription service with monthly data plans.

Among the eight cameras on display are the new KY-PZ100 PTZ models that feature JVC’s unique IP communications engine. The cameras uniquely provide live streaming and IP control, on-board HD recording to solid-state memory, and live SDI and HDMI output. Also shown are two specialty cameras with integrated graphics, the GY-HM200SP for sports productions and the GY-HM200HW for worship applications. Designed for single-camera coverage, the cameras produce graphic overlays without the use of an external CG or other production equipment. Both cameras also feature a built-in streaming engine with Wi-Fi and 4G LTE connectivity, so event coverage can be shared directly to JVC's VIDEOCLOUD as well as other content delivery networks (CDNs) such as Facebook Live and YouTube. Plus, live footage can be streamed to a decoder at a cable head-end for leased access and other distribution options.

JVC will also showcase models from the new DT-V G2 production monitor line. Designed for critical image evaluation, all DT-V G2 LCD monitors include extensive built-in features, including a high contrast ratio of 1500:1, wide viewing angles (178 degrees), waveform monitor, vectorscope, histogram, and on-screen markers. Users can also monitor up to 16 channels of embedded audio, while a new Lissajous meter displays the stereo field of a signal and shows possible phase issues.
