Hamburg Pro Media Unveils VirtualMXF for Final Cut Pro X

Augments MXF4mac portfolio with new utility that allows editors to access your MXF files directly within Final Cut Pro X without transcoding

Hamburg Pro Media is pleased to announce VirtualMXF, the latest addition to the MXF4mac portfolio of professional video software. Since 2007 Hamburg Pro Media has enabled broadcasters and post-production professionals to use MXF video within Quicktime applications on Apple Macintosh computers with a minimum of effort and no loss of quality.

The next generation of MXF support on the Mac has now arrived with VirtualMXF: you can now access your MXF files directly within Final Cut Pro X without transcoding. No conversions, no delay. This seamless integration with Apple's file-based workflow is attained by virtualizing the MXF containers and presenting them to applications as if they were movie files. There are no delays caused by time-consuming operations like rendering, rewrapping, or writing files to disk.

With VirtualMXF you can use industry-standard MXF media files directly from within Final Cut Pro X and other Mac applications. Even more impressive is the processing speed: even complex codecs like long-GOP XDCAM HD are immediately made accessible.

VirtualMXF is compatible with a broad range of video/audio editing applications, including Final Cut Pro 7, Final Cut Pro X, Adobe Premiere CS 5.5, and Digidesign Pro Tools. VirtualMXF can process MXF variations from all major manufacturers, including XDCAM HD, AVC-Intra, DNxHD, DVCPRO HD, IMX-D10, JPEG2000, DV, and H.264 from DSLR cameras.

Later in 2012 VirtualMXF will be joined by VirtualMXF Pro with even more capabilities for large broadcast environments. An Upgrade will be available.

VirtualMXF is available immediately and at a price of just $199.
