Envoi Provides Miracle Theater with Cloud-Based Live Streaming and Post Production Facilities

Envoi is working with The Miracle Theater, an entertainment venue located in Inglewood, CA, to enable its video production team to produce, shoot, edit, and stream live music, stand-up comedy and film premieres directly

Having been forced to close its doors during the pandemic, the owner and operators of The Miracle Theater, former technical and creative staff on “American Idol,” produced remote production and live streaming for music events. As well as providing 100 gigabit Internet, Envoi has partnered with Black Magic Design to provide The Miracle Theater with 4K live switches and recording software while integrating Videon for edge computing with Amazon Web Services (AWS) Media Services. This  combination  makes live video processing and distribution faster and more efficient. Video content is streamed using Envoi’s cloud-based content management, distribution, and monetization platform.

As health restrictions have allowed Los Angeles-based video production to return, The Miracle Theater has been collaborating with Envoi to stream a number of live events. This has included streaming a feature-length movie “Tazmanian Devil” utilizing AWS Elemental MediaConnect, AWS Elemental MediaLive and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) services to its theater, a newly launched music series for Revolt TV, The Global Music Festival, and Justice Fest 2021, a live concert and community forum produced in partnership with the Social Justice Learning Institute.

Owen Smith of The Miracle Theater, commented: “Envoi has enabled us to put in place a full broadcast workflow, helping us to reach a global audience for events taking place at the theater. Thanks to Envoi’s expertise and the tools in place, we can be sure that our audience, our community, will get a high quality viewing experience, wherever they are based.”

Nicholas Stokes, CEO, Envoi, added: “Since the pandemic we are partnering with a number of independent theaters to enable them to find new ways to reach their audiences. The Miracle Theater is extremely forward-thinking and now has a broadcast-grade setup, enabling full remote production and distribution for the theater and its event partners, which will continue to be valuable way beyond COVID.”

The entire workflow is cloud-based meaning that movies and video content can be streamed live from the theater while simultaneously being edited and distributed in the cloud. This means that there is no need for The Miracle Theater to have on-premise hardware for any of this processing, saving much needed space.
