In 2007, Don Sperling was named Vice President and Executive Producer of Giants Entertainment, the media, marketing, programming, production and events arm of the New York Football Giants. Don oversees all branding, marketing, television, radio, digital media, social media, publishing, creative services, events and the live game day stadium production and presentation.
Don was formerly the President of D&L Media, a full service production, development, programming and consulting company, specializing in television & film production, new media and digital strategy across all platforms, broadcasting, branding, and live events. Their roster of clients included NBC, AOL, CBS, FOX, TNT, MSG Network, THC, CNN, BET, TLC, New Line Film and Television, NBA, MLB, NFL, USTA, USGA, IMG, NASCAR, ESPN, ESPN Classic, NY Giants, and Lion’s Gate Films.
Sperling was Senior Vice President and Executive Producer of NBA Entertainment, NBA TV and NBA.com for fifteen years. He was responsible for the overall branding, development, marketing, programming, sales, and creative direction. Sperling developed NBA TV’s live game broadcasts as well as the international feeds. Don grew the division from a modest five people to over 270 by 1998, increasing sales, revenues and profits steadily. Sperling also fostered the NBA’s global success and expansion. The NBA became the largest producer and broadcaster of sports programming and digital media with over 240 affiliates worldwide.
Don created and developed “NBA Inside Stuff,” NBC’s extremely successful and long running weekly sports and entertainment show airing fifty-two weeks a year. “Inside Stuff” is recognized as the innovator of sports entertainment programming aimed at the teen demographic. Don developed the NBA’s award-winning “I Love This Game” campaign, PSA's, and a wide array of film commercials. Sperling developed and oversaw all of the NBA’s programs and specials, airing on NBC, ABC, TNT, ESPN, MTV, Nickelodeon, BET, and Lifetime.
