Inspired by the opportunity to reinvent media consumption, Tatum Lade joined Boxee in 2010, bringing with him a passion for building great products and working with talented people. Since joining Boxee, Lade has been instrumental in the company’s evolution and currently is leading Boxee’s Cloud-DVR, Cloudee and mobile development.
Prior to Boxee, Lade was co-founder and CTO of Diversion Media, a broadband video technology and services provider. He played a critical role in securing and maintaining relationships with some of the company's biggest clients including Sling Media, WNET and Wenner Media. Using his deep expertise with large scale video systems, Lade designed and built HDCloud, whose unique architecture enabled extremely high performance video processing, providing dramatically more throughput and lower latency than the competition.
Formerly, Lade was the VP of Technology at iFilm, one of the largest user generated video sites at the time, acquired by Viacom in 2005. At iFilm, he led the development of a robust and sophisticated platform for video delivery to PCs, mobile devices and set-top boxes.
Lade has been involved with media and technology for most of his adult life, beginning as a teenager when he travelled extensively, working on documentary films as well as 3D animation.
