www.bigbrother-haus.de is Europes most visited site
The Internet website http://www.bigbrother-haus.de, which is part of the German Big Brother-project and broadcast daily by RTL II, is a mega success. The site has generated an average of 3.5 million pageviews a day in its first week. Until now, the highest figure reached was 5.2 million pageviews last Thursday. This makes it the most visited website in Europe and one of the most successful in the world.
Just as with the Dutch version of the program, ENDEMOL Entertainment is co-operating with World Online on the German site. In the Netherlands, the Big Brother website generated more than 52 million pageviews during the 100 days of the project. For the Netherlands, but also from an international perspective, this is an astronomic figure for an entertainment site. The number of visitors to the German site is expected to exceed even the success of the Dutch project.
The televised version of Big Brother has also kicked-off to a promising start in Germany. Just as in the Netherlands, Big Brother has scored high ratings, especially among the younger audience, making it particularly interesting to advertisers. With the program, RTL II obtained an average market share of 26.8% in the group of 14 to 29 year-olds, Big Brother's target age group. Last year, RTL II achieved an average market share of 5.7% in the group of 14 to 49 year-olds. In Germany during the first week of Big Brother, this percentage totaled 14.3% within this age group.
