virtue broadcasting Announces Major New Venture To Broadcast Live Rock And Pop Events To Global Audience

virtue broadcasting announced today a major new venture, WembleyTV, which will broadcast live rock and pop acts to a global market through the Internet, terrestrial and non-terrestrial TV.

Wembley TV brings together a uniquely powerful alliance of leading music venues, broadcasters and promoters in the UK and Irish music industry, who together will deliver an exciting new dimension to the live entertainment industry.

The partners in Wembley TV are:
· Wembley plc: owners of Wembley Arena, the UK's premier live entertainment venue and a ‘must play' venue for major touring acts, attracting annual audiences of over 1.3 million

· Virtue Broadcasting: Europe's leading Internet Broadcaster, responsible for broadcasting acts such as Paul McCArtney, Jean Michel Jarre, The Pet Shop Boys and Fat Boy Slim

· The McKenzie Group: owners of the Brixton Academy and The Shepherds Bush Empire, regular award winners for ‘Best UK Music Venues'

· SJM Promotions: responsible for promoting acts such as The Spice Girls, Oasis, James, Stereophonics and the Beautiful South

· Metropolis: responsible for promoting acts such as Robbie Williams, Blur, Catatonia, Placebo, Ocean Colour Scene and Massive Attack

· MCD: responsible for promoting acts such as U2, Travis, The Chemical Brothers, Westlife and Oasis in Ireland

WembleyTV's initial focus will be the phenomenal range of live events already promoted or hosted by the joint venture partners. In total, approximately 2,000 events are already staged annually by these partners. Wembley TV creates the opportunity to expand the audience for these events into the global market place.

It is expected that the first event to be broadcast will be V2000 in August, the major two day annual Music festival held at Chelmsford and Stafford, which attracts over 100,000 people.

Nigel Potter, Chief Executive of Wembley plc commented:

"The strength and calibre of this partnership provides a unique opportunity to take the traditional live entertainment industry into the 21st Century, delivering direct to a currently untapped marketplace. Partnerships are providing an increasingly powerful mechanism through which live music can be shared, and WembleyTV will be the UK's most potent force in this market".
