Stupid Dog Tricks to Stream on Yahoo!

Yahoo! Broadcast Services (broadcast.yahoo.com) has announced a relationship with global pet product manufacturer Ralston Purina, to launch Purina TV, a pet care information site.

Purina TV will offer streaming video and audio segments on pet nutrition, training and health, and demonstrations by pet care experts. The site will also feature special events designed to bring owners closer to their pets, including the Purina Incredible Dog Challenge, and a Stupid Dog Tricks contest. "Our goal is to improve the lives of pets and their owners," said Michael D. Moore, director of global interactive for Purina.

The content on Purina TV is presented in a triple-pane format in which the user can stream a video segment, read related text on the subject, and browse links on the Web. The site has a feature that selects the optimum codec and bit rate for the user.

Yahoo! will be promoting Purina products throughout its content network. The relationship signals the portal giant's move to find innovative ways of promoting its partners in a climate of declining online ad revenues.
