Akoo.com Completes Second-Round Funding

Streaming media portal Akoo.com (http://www.akoo.com) announced that it successfully closed its second round of funding.

The company did not disclose who the investors were or how much financing it had acquired.

Even after finishing this second round, it is looking to meet with other venture capital firms to raise additional funding early this year.

Akoo.com beta launched a streaming media portal site that includes a search engine and a web-based scheduler for managing streaming content.

"Akoo.com's vision is playing a leadership role in transforming the way end-users find, hear and see Internet broadcasting," said Tom Kulawiak, akoo.com's chief financial officer. "We're unveiling innovative products and services in 2000 that greatly simplify and enhance Internet broadcasting for millions of end-users. These investment funds will further accelerate our aggressive growth plans."

Akoo.com also has plans on releasing Kima, a consumer-oriented wireless technology that allows end-users to retransmit audio from a PC to any home stereo or portable radio system within 1,000 feet. The company is currently looking to team up with investors or manufacturing partners to release the Kima in the second quarter this year.
