Amazon Web Services Gets Adobe Flash Media Server 4

For small businesses and people creating one-time events, delivering Flash experiences just got a little easier. Amazon Web services now offers Adobe Flash Media Server 4 on its Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2). The combination is meant to let customers create affordable and scalable media experiences without having to purchase a full server license.
Amazon Web Services works on a pay-as-you-go model. Using Flash Media Server 4 on it, customers will be able to serve Flash to multiple platforms and devices while using Flash Media Enterprise Server 4's full feature set. That means they can multicast and use live packaging with HTTP Dynamic Streaming, use RTMFP to reduce bandwidth, and offer real-time interactive applications without the need for a software license. Charges are based only on the server time and data transfer used.
"Adobe Flash Media Server on Amazon Web Services helps to reduce the costs associated with deploying advanced media experiences across multiple screens, including multi-user games, video chat, and video streaming," says David Wadhwani, senior vice president and general manager of the Creative and Interactive Business Unit at Adobe.
"We're pleased to leverage Amazon Web Services to provide a flexible and cost-effective way for customers to access the rich functionality offered in Adobe Flash Media Server," adds Wadhwani.
Adobe Flash Media Server is available immediately on Amazon Web Services.
