Steve Wax
Co-Founder, Partner
Campfire

Steve Wax began his career writing and directing for Francis Ford Coppola, and went on to create the now-famous San Francisco film collective, CineManifest.  After seven years, Cine Manifest came to an end, while Steve continued his narrative sojourn by developing and producing his own independent features, including, The Little Sister.

Later, he founded Chelsea Pictures working with directors to create intimate :30 second stories for brands, and in the process producing a number of feature films and shorts including Unmade Beds and the Academy Award nominated Killing Joe.

Steve’s fascination with storytelling and technology led him to the Blair Witch Project filmmakers via Sundance in 1999, and ever since, he’s been working closely with two of them, Mike Monello and Gregg Hale, on “branded entertainment” projects. Through the boom and bust of the dot com era Steve and his partners have built Campfire into a unique company that draws on interactive narratology.
