ViewCast Extends Software Support on Niagara SCX Video Streaming Software

Version 7.2 Supports CEA-708 Closed Captioning on Niagara HD Systems

PLANO, Texas(14 May 2013)

ViewCast (OTCBB: VCST) is extending software support for Niagara SCX video streaming software on new Niagara streaming systems for an additional nine months when customers register a newly-purchased Niagara streaming system within the first 30 days. Currently, customers receive three months software support on Niagara systems. Niagara SCX lets customers manage live video streaming via local or remote control.

"The latest version of Niagara SCX 7.2 gives customers a high-level of flexibility and convenience. We want to show our customers we stand behind our products with an extension of the software support agreement," said John Hammock, President and CEO of ViewCast, a developer of industry-leading solutions that help companies deliver video to mobile devices and televisions. "All of our Niagara systems will be updated to version 7.2 throughout 2013," he added.

Version 7.2 of the software supports embedded CEA-708 closed captioning, a new FCC mandate for IP-delivered content, for specific encoders on Niagara HD systems. The Niagara 9100-2D and Niagara 4100 will be the first systems released with version 7.2. CEA-708 is the Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) standard for closed captioning for digital television.

Niagara SCX enables multiple streams and multiple streaming formats in one application, eliminating the hassle and costs of multiple applications and multiple instances. Using local or remote control, customers can view the captured video on-the-fly, check and adjust key audio/video settings, select audio/visual inputs and configure profiles that determine capture size, frame rate, data bit rate speeds and CPU loads.

"Along with embedded closed captioning support, version 7.2 also supports SNMP (simple network management protocol) version 2.0 for controlling one or several Niagara systems at the same time," said Adrian Giuhat, ViewCast Senior Vice President of Product Development and Chief Technology Officer.
