Osprey by Variosystems to Unveil New Innovations at 2015 NAB Show

New Osprey Ceylon encoding software, Osprey Black line of converters and peripherals, and much-anticipated Linux drivers will be introduced at the exhibit

Southlake, TX(09 Apr 2015)

Osprey by Variosystems, an award-winning leader in video technology, will debut several new products at the NAB Show, April 13-16, 2015, at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Visitors to the Osprey Video booth (SU11025) will be able to see demonstrations of the new Osprey Ceylon encoding software, enhanced Linux drivers and a new line of converters and peripherals in addition to the company’s renowned video capture cards.

“We’re offering customers more comprehensive solutions to meet their every need,” said Roger Bieri, general manager of Osprey by Variosystems. “Our updated drivers are a response to customers’ requests for proven features that they love on our Windows versions. And our other offerings are designed to give users peace of mind because they now can use more system components conceived and tested to live up to the Osprey reputation of high quality and reliability.”

Encoding Software

To complement its existing line of Osprey video capture cards, the company has developed Osprey Ceylon, an H.264 encoding desktop application for live RTMP streaming and simultaneous H.264 archiving. Using the software with an Osprey card enables the live broadcast and archiving of events such as church or sporting events, corporate webcasts or concerts to be delivered to computers, connected TVs, tablets and mobile devices. Closed captioning is automatically embedded in the H.264 data and the software allows for simultaneous encoding to multiple destinations. Osprey Ceylon is specifically designed to work with Osprey video capture cards and provides users with the added advantage of specific Osprey properties in conjunction with those cards. For example, the software supports DVB-ASI MPEG2 TS input video and audio boost controls when used with an Osprey card.

Osprey Black Converters and Peripherals

Osprey by Variosystems will also debut its new Osprey Black product line of converters and peripherals. Each of the six products currently comprising the line is scheduled to launch between June and August of 2015. Osprey Black products can be powered by an off-the-shelf USB battery pack, and all come with I/O accessories, a lockable USB Mini B power cable, and more.

Linux Drivers

The company has developed new Linux drivers for the Osprey 800 series cards. These updated drivers include all the features found in its Windows drivers such as such as pre-processing controls, watermarking, automatic signal detection, scaling, cropping, de-interlace and closed captioning.

Video Capture Cards

Finally, visitors will be able to view the entire line of Osprey video capture cards on display, including the recently-launched Osprey 815e low profile, single channel digital card and the Osprey 821 dual channel dedicated HDMI card. Also of interest are the new capture cards, the versatile Osprey 827e card that features analog, digital and a variety of audio inputs, and the 811e low-profile, HDMI single channel card.
