NeuLion Announces That Adobe Plans to Integrate MainConcept HEVC Video SDK Into a Number of Its Applications

Adobe Plans to Enable HEVC Video Compression in Many Key Adobe Creative Cloud Apps

PLAINVIEW, NY(11 Sep 2015)

NeuLion, Inc. (NLN), a leading technology product and service provider specializing in the broadcasting, distribution and monetization of live and on-demand digital video content to Internet-enabled devices, today announced that Adobe plans to integrate the MainConcept HEVC SDK into a number of its applications. The newest version 6.0 of the industry-leading HEVC SDK includes support for software-based real-time encoding of 4Kp60 content, as well as 10-bit video.

Adobe plans to incorporate the MainConcept HEVC SDK into several key apps within Adobe Creative Cloud®, such as Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere Pro, and many others.

"Creative professionals expect the best from Adobe. As a result, we are always looking for ways to enhance the speed, efficiency and quality of our industry-leading products," said Susan Skidmore, Head of Partner Relations, Professional Video at Adobe. "Our collaboration with NeuLion ensures our customers have the high-quality encoding they need while taking advantage of the apps within Adobe Creative Cloud."

The MainConcept HEVC SDK 6.0 adds support for real-time 4Kp60 encoding, dynamic insertion of IDR frames and HDR signaling. While the latest release greatly accelerates encoding for 4K resolutions, the MainConcept SDK 6.0 still provides significant bitrate savings over H.264/AVC for both 8- or 10-bit content. The patent-pending Smart Adaptive Bitrate Encoding Technology (SABET) allow developers to encode in real-time multiple bitrates simultaneously on the same hardware, or achieve a 30 percent performance gain for file-based transcoding for adaptive formats. Offering better performance than open source solutions, such as X.265, the MainConcept HEVC SDK is also easier to implement and comes with complete integration and technical support, enabling customers a faster time to market for their solutions.

MainConcept is the leading provider of video and audio encoding, decoding, transcoding and streaming technologies. With offerings that range from individual components for software developers to ready to use software transcoding solutions, MainConcept's video technology delivers exceptionally high-quality, high performance and bitrate efficient solutions for digital media professionals. MainConcept's HEVC offering helps power the NeuLion's sixth generation platform, which offers content rights holders end-to-end delivery of live and on-demand video in MPEG-DASH compliant HEVC HD and 4Kp60 video.

NeuLion will be showcasing MainConcept technology and live demonstrations of its video services at IBC 2015. Visit NeuLion in Hall 14 Stand F34.
