Inlet Technologies Assists Streaming of Australia’s ABC News 24 Digital News Service
Australia’s First Free-to-Air, 24-Hour Digital News Service Uses Inlet’s Spinnaker for
Online and Mobile Live Streaming

Inlet Technologies, the leader in innovative solutions for digital media preparation, announced today that ABC News 24, Australia's first free-to-air, 24-hour digital news service, is using its SpinnakerTM family of encoding solutions to stream live news programming 24/7 to web and mobile users. Inlet's trusted regional reseller partner, Magna Systems and Engineering, contributed to this opportunity.
Inlet and Magna Systems teamed together to deploy Inlet's Spinnaker appliances in conjunction with the Spinnaker Management Console, a comprehensive solution for high-volume streaming operations that simplifies the management, configuration, and monitoring of multiple Spinnaker units. Spinnaker supports adaptive bitrate (ABR) delivery technology (including Microsoft Smooth and Adobe Dynamic streaming), allowing viewers to move seamlessly from one resolution and data rate to another without buffering or pausing. Combined with support of the latest platforms (i.e., iPhone, iPhone 4, iPad, feature phones, and smartphones), Spinnaker delivers a true broadcast experience on the web or any mobile viewing device.
