Rennes, France(01 Sep 2015)

BBright, the fast growing Ultra HD (UHD) infrastructure and video compression start up, has announced it will launch three new products at IBC 2015 that complement its existing UHD baseband player and live 4K HEVC encoder. BBright will introduce UHD-Record for quad 3G-SDI baseband recording, a 4K HEVC transport stream player called UHD-TS and its HEVC-Master file mastering station for HEVC, extending its already significant capability across the UHD workflow ecosystem.

The 4K baseband recorder will enable seamless capture of an Ultra HD live content source, which can assist the file-based workflow in creating the highest quality content for video contribution and ultimate distribution. The UHD HEVC transport stream player will enable cost effective distribution of 4K compressed content at lower bit rates, which is an important step on the path towards viable commercial UHD trials and full commercial services that fit into as small a bandwidth as possible. Then the HEVC mastering station enables creation of non-live content or VOD file such as movies and TV documentaries at the highest video quality, HEVC encoded up to 4:4:4 12 bits.

“With these new products we can now offer a full range of technologies and flexible software-based appliances for UHD encoding, playback, recording and processing,” said Guillaume Arthuis, BBright’s CEO. “Broadcasters and network operators are now seriously evaluating 4K solutions for imminent deployments at a time when compression standards are still evolving. That is why we have ensured that all BBright products and software can be upgraded in the field to conform with standards as they emerge and match our customers’ future requirements.”

BBright has grown rapidly to become a significant player in UHD encoding and UHD ecosystem products. The company has become a reliable source of 4K content to leading UHD sport trials being conducted through its UHD-Play baseband server and SLED-4K live HEVC encoder by Tier-1 broadcasters like France Télévisions.

Meet BBright during IBC, RAI Amsterdam in Hall 2 on Booth 2.B39a from 11th to 15th September 2015.
