On2.com says On2Movies Will Launch on February 18

Broadband entertainment network On2.com (http://www.on2.com) finally is opening its doors on February 18th. That's when On2Movies.com ( http://www.on2movies.com), its first site will officially launch.

On2Movies will offer full-motion, full-screen, video to broadband consumers with content including movie trailers, a celebrity interview show, short films from providers such as AtomFilms and Trailervision and other content. On2Movies will also provide delayed-broadcast coverage of industryevents such as the 2000 Critics' Choice Awards and the Sundance Film Festival.

"Becauseour broadband technology is so revolutionary, we elected to open our finalbeta to the public in order to identify any early issues consumers mightencounter using the channel. On2.com won't use RealNetworks or Windows Media. They have their own proprietary compression technology called TrueMotion VP3.
