Midstream Partners with Widevine Technologies

MidStream Technologies (www.midstream.com) and Widevine ( www.widevine.com) announced on Wednesday that they have reached a non-exclusive agreement to make Widevine's encryption technology available on MidStream's streaming server.

MidStream states that it has developed a streaming server capable of serving millions of simultaneous streams in all popular formats.

Both companies engineering teams are working to embed the Widevine Cypher security solution, which provides a unique encryption scheme "on the fly" for each stream, within MidStream's server.

"Content piracy on the Internet is a big concern for content owners,"said Richard Oesterreicher, chief technology officer, MidStreamTechnologies. "We pride ourselves on proactively implementing newtechnologies that will revolutionize the economics and scalability ofsecure and reliable delivery of streaming media."
