Margret Schmidt is VP of User Experience Design & Research at Roku, and is a tech executive experienced in leading large product, design, and engineering teams through product and org transformations, including product management and user experience for Google’s Chrome Browser; and engineering for Intuit’s QuickBooks Online Payroll. Margret spent 16 years at TiVo, where she was Chief Design Officer and VP of Product Development for the much-loved DVR that revolutionized television. Margret is an alumna of UC Berkeley’s College of Engineering and Stanford’s Graduate School of Business. She has a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement in Interactive Television, was one of the Most Powerful Women in Cable for seven years, and was named an iTV All-Star for her lifetime achievement in interactive television. She is a YWCA Silicon Valley Tribute to Women honoree, and one of Silicon Valley Business Journal's Women of Influence. Margret regularly speaks on design & innovation and women in technology and leadership at forums including SXSW, CES, Grace Hopper, and UC Berkeley. She holds 55 patents. Margret is a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) and enjoys helping people navigate careers and lives in tech.
