Brian is an industry veteran with over 20 years’ experience in the Media and Entertainment, Networking and Cloud verticals, and has and developed numerous innovative technologies and solution sets that drive new business value for Tier1 Network Operators, Programmers, Studios and Gaming Companies. Brian is a Founder and a Senior Technical Fellow at Open@5 providing Group Strategy and CTO Functions to Global Hyperscalers and Tier 1 Communication Service Providers currently leveraging streaming video to monetize their investment in 5G technology. While Media and Entertainment is Brian’s primary focus, Extended Reality, Cloud Gaming and “Video as a Sensor” applications for Healthcare, Frictionless Retail and IoT are also key verticals. Prior to Open@5, Brian was responsible for Technology Strategy and Innovation at EDGEGRAVITY by Ericsson, a global 5G Edge Cloud infrastructure deployed in conjunction with 85 Tier 1 Operators and ran IP and Cloud Video Strategy at Nokia. Brian is a serial technology entrepreneur and an alumna of 5 successful start-ups that have helped shaped today’s OTT and IP Video entertainment experience. Widely recognized within the industry as an innovator he is also the recipient of two EMMY and two IBC Innovation awards, and currently holds several key advisory roles including Technical Fellow at the Streaming Video Alliance and 5G Edge Cloud Advisor at Generation Capital.
