Picture of James SmithAs Head of Entertainment at Facebook, James helps global entertainment companies grow and reach their customers in new and innovative ways. He oversees purpose-built teams that focus on driving growth conversations with streaming TV services, film studios and traditional TV networks.

Prior to joining Facebook, James served in senior leadership roles across Digital/OTT Advertising Sales for Sony Pictures Television, Sony Crackle, Sony PlayStation, PlayStation Vue, Pluto Tv and Funimation. At Sony Pictures Television and PlayStation, he built their OTT / video ad sales & branded content businesses and funded Emmy nominated Original content for shows like Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee and SuperMansion. James was also responsible for creating the custom, native advertising business on Sony PlayStation and PlayStation VR.

Before Sony, James spent 5 years as VP of National Ad Sales for Disney overseeing revenue across a network of 30 digital assets including OTT / video, social, display and mobile games. A board member of the IAB, James has launched successful media businesses in Japan and Europe and has held global sales positions at Sony and Softbank Japan.
