Picture of Zachary CavaZachary Cava joined Hulu in 2015 as an engineer working to deploy the Hulu application across a wide-ecosystem of living room devices with focus on the enablement of seamless multi-asset media playout across the countless formats supported by Hulu. With the launch of Hulu + Live TV in 2017, Zack led the efforts to consolidate Hulu's streaming formats to CMAF packaging, CENC encryption, and DASH/HLS manifests and engage in the various standards organizations to help further define use-cases and interoperability while also introducing innovative new technologies such as manifest patch updates and Server Guided Ad Insertion.

Today, Zack continues his work as part of the combined Disney Streaming organization which oversees the Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, and Star+ applications as they deploy a world-class catalog in both ad-free and ad-supported scenarios utilizing CMAF. Zack also chairs the CTA WAVE DASH/HLS Interoperability Group and is editor of the DASH/HLS Interoperability Specification which will be published in 2021.
