Neal Roberts is a well-rounded industry veteran, he has been involved in nearly all aspects of production, design, integration, and distribution. His career began by chasing and shooting local news throughout high school and studying broadcast at Kutztown University, moving west to become Director of Photography for a large production company in Santa Monica, then honing his system integration skills in the CEDIA space. He moved back to the east coast to start a family and join Comcast, leading several cross-functional teams at their headquarters in Philadelphia. An early champion of Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, he played a key role in Comcast’s adoption and wide deployment of these technologies to improve customer experiences. He joined Dolby and drove adoption and implementations of broadcast tech with several industry partners and dug in deep to find and solve for gaps in the live streaming/broadcast industry. Taking the experience and knowledge gained at his time with Dolby, Neal moved to Warner Bros. Discovery where he was able to apply the theories and practices developed at his time with Dolby which played a significant role in the massive success of the live platform that feeds premium live content to consumers through WBD's DTC platforms including HBO Max, Discovery+, CNN, and more. Neal spent a short time at Netflix leading Live Globalization efforts before returning to WBD as a Distinguished Engineer of Video Platform Technology, continuing his efforts around unified live experiences in broadcast streaming. Neal has been part of teams that delivered 7 Olympic Games, countless NHRA events, World Series, NBA, NHL, MLB, and multiple regional sporting events. He is a US patent holder, and has multiple industry certifications and awards.
