Jason Press is the executive vice president, global direct-to-consumer engineering, operations and program management for WarnerMedia. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing the technical strategic vision for WarnerMedia’s premium streaming service, HBO Max. He leads its global architecture and design, business and engineering delivery, engineering and operations, customer experience engineering and platform engineering. He’s also responsible for the management of You.i TV, a leading provider of cross-platform development tools for media companies that WarnerMedia acquired in late 2020, and that has helped to supercharge the company’s direct-to-consumer platform.
Press leads diverse teams of technologists spanning 19 countries who work together to ensure WarnerMedia delivers a world-class quality customer experience to nearly 74 million subscribers globally – all while embracing the growing technological capabilities of emerging technologies like native app development, cloud infrastructure, artificial intelligence, machine learning and more. He leads inclusive, high-performing teams that build category-defining products and platforms at scale through collaboration, innovation and focus.
Before joining WarnerMedia in 2019, Press served in senior technical leadership roles for 10 years at Comcast Cable. As Senior Vice President of Product Development, Video Engineering and Operations he led product management, engineering, quality assurance, delivery management and the operations organization for Video Business and IP Video platforms. As Chief Technology Officer of Comcast Interactive Media, he oversaw a team that built entertainment products and features such as XfinityTV.com, which enabled an industry-first TV Everywhere authenticated viewing experience online. He also built the Xfinity TV Remote App for viewing "What's on TV / OnDemand" and Xfinity TV Go and X1, earning the Primetime Engineering Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement.
