Version 4.0's new user-interface, called Unicorn Media Room, enables simplified access and easy-to-use functionality for everyday users and also exposes in-depth capabilities for power users. Version 4.0 comes equipped with in-demand features such as content filtering, dynamic playlisting, drag and drop syndication technology to support multiple devices, enterprise-grade rights management, and unprecedented real-time video analytics. As part of Unicorn's comprehensive Media-as-a-Service framework, the new Unicorn Media Room interface is just one of many modular applications powered by Unicorn's robust API technology.

At the core of the Media-as-a-Service 4.0 platform is a highly scalable architecture designed to handle the high-volume publishing requirements of growing online properties and initiatives such as TV Everywhere. The Unicorn Media team has drawn on its experience in building extremely high-capacity delivery services to build a platform capable of supporting millions of simultaneous viewers and billions of transactions through a globally distributed application infrastructure, massively scalable transcoding system and powerful real-time analytics engine. Media-as-a-Service 4.0 and the Unicorn Media Room interface combine to harness the power of this architecture in a simplified and easy-to-navigate manner.

Unicorn Media Room provides features such as publication filtering with simple point-and-click methods for setting complex rules such as release windows and filtering for IP addresses. Customers can establish these rules based on time, geography, content, device-type or other variables to control the multi-level distribution of one or many pieces of content at definitive times and locations around the world. Allowing for behind the firewall delivery, users may also set rules to publish content by specific IP address or range, reaching internal employees or a particular user base.  Similarly, dynamic playlist tools allow video publishers to establish comprehensive publication rules in advance for content availability and promotion.  The combination of filtering rules and dynamic playlists gives Unicorn customers the ultimate control over the distribution of their content.

The new platform and interface also feature a number of enhancements including file upload options for one-time, batch or automated uploading, new analytics views and export capabilities as well as improved geofencing of content.  In order to support a broad range of monetization strategies, Unicorn Media Room can easily integrate with leading third party ad-networks, ad-decision systems and paywall services to support each publisher's unique business model.  Unicorn Media Room customers can easily support multiple users in an organization through a unique rights management function that allows content owners to manage an unlimited number of ‘sub-accounts' all within one system. Each of these sub-accounts can be set with specific user rights controls, allowing customer administrators to segment their user access to features such as video uploading, transcoding or analytics information as applicable.
