Taplytics Unveils New TV App Testing Support for Apple TV, Android TV, and Amazon Fire TV Apps

With OTT streaming video services predicted to reach 333.2 million global subscriptions by 2019, Taplytics aims to bring A/B testing and optimization to popular TV apps.

Toronto(20 Nov 2017)

Taplytics (, a product experiment solution, announced today the introduction of TV app testing support for Apple TV, Android TV and Amazon Fire TV Devices.

Taplytics now enables companies to test their product decisions on TV apps the same way that they do on web or mobile to enhance viewing experiences across all device types. TV apps are very different than mobile apps, with clear user interactions and far less complicated interfaces and moving parts. The simplicity of TV app interfaces gives content providers the opportunity to run impactful tests that will reveal how they should be customizing the user's overall experience on every device. This is particularly important now that consumer attention is constantly being divided amongst multiple screens.

“Netflix, Hulu and HBO are changing the way we watch, distribute and monetize TV,” said Aaron Glazer, co-founder and CEO at Taplytics. “Since OTT adoption is on the rise, we saw an opportunity to offer support. We’re very excited to be part of the fast-growing OTT word and to help our customers continuously enhance the user experience.“

Over the past few years, OTT viewing has grown to become a mainstream media behavior in the U.S., now with 51 million households – or 54% of Wi-Fi connected homes – streaming video content over-the-top to a television set. The OTT revenue for 2019 is projected to surge to 17.8 billion, as more households cancel services with traditional TV providers.

With Taplytics, customers can understand what drives engagement within their apps by testing on specific features, flows and visuals. Live users can be segmented by a user’s device type, geography, experiment and variation allocation, as well as any customer defined custom variables. By encouraging a data-first approach to optimizing digital products, Taplytics is helping TV apps convert viewers into loyal subscribers through personalized experiences.
