Magnolia Pictures Expands Footprint of Streaming Services as Magnolia Selects and a La Carte Genre Channels Launch on SlingTV

Magnolia Pictures, one of the premiere independent theatrical and home entertainment distributors in the U.S., announced today that its digital streaming service, Magnolia Selects, and three genre-specific viewing channels launched on Sling TV.

Magnolia Selects offers one of the deepest, most critically-acclaimed libraries of independent features. Additionally, their standalone channels “Warriors & Gangsters,” “DOX” and “Monsters & Nightmares,” provide a specially curated collection of movies and TV series highlighting the best in action, documentaries and horror cult films for those with an appetite for genre-specific offerings.

Showcasing today’s top indie and award-winning filmmakers, Hollywood’s biggest stars and more for diverse film viewing audiences, Magnolia Selects is available for $5 per month and each SVOD channel (“Warriors & Gangsters,” “DOX” and “Monsters & Nightmares”) will be available for $3 per month via sling.com and the Sling TV app on select compatible devices.

Magnolia Selects features acclaimed independent films, including the Oscar-winning documentary Man on Wire; the Swedish indie revered as one of the best horror films ever made, Let the Right One In; the Oscar-nominated documentary from Alex Gibney, Enron: The Smartest Guys in The Room and Andrew Jarecki’s groundbreaking film inspired by a true crime story, All Good Things. Added to the collection of films include fan-favorite comedies Tucker & Dale vs Evil and Goon, starring Seann William Scott, alongside the modern martial arts masterpiece 13 Assassins from acclaimed director Takashi Miike and more.

Curated from the Magnolia Selects film library, each standalone channel caters to the specific viewing needs of audiences. Fans can immerse themselves in the “Warriors & Gangsters” channel, featuring a collection of adrenaline pumping, fist pounding, bone breaking excitement and thrills with films such as Ong Bak, 13 Assassins, Kingdom of War and Troll Hunter. The “Monsters & Nightmares” channel highlights the best horror, thriller, sci-fi and nightmare inducing movies, including Let The Right One In, The Host, The ABC’s of Death and Survival of the Dead, while “DOX” showcases exceptional documentaries and docuseries from some of the most renowned filmmakers around the world, including Food Inc., Man on Wire, The Wolfpack, Iris and Best of Enemies.
