Datazoom Launches Self-Service Platform

The company bringing access, standards, and governance to real-time video data launches self-service platform open to video content publishers of any size.

New York, New York(25 Mar 2019)

Datazoom, the team behind the first pure-play video data control platform to capture, classify, and connect data for online and OTT video streaming announced today the addition of a self-service platform to provide any video publisher with better authority and command over the collection and management of data, as well as integrations with analytics, monitoring, reporting, and automation solutions.

Interested parties will be treated to a 15-day free trial so they can explore the platform’s features: Collectors, Connectors, & Data Pipes. The addition of a fully self-service platform makes what is already a simple setup and integration process even more streamlined.

Datazoom’s platform offers unique data assurance and securitization to the flows of data created between Collectors, which are used to capture video data from various sources and Data Pipes, which route said data to multiple Connector endpoints. With complete transparency into what and how data points are gathered, Datazoom is positioned as the most objective source of truth for occurrences transpiring during playback.

Beyond ensuring superior data governance, Datazoom’s platform increases the usability of data by transforming all data nomenclature to fit a single naming convention - the Data Dictionary - which will leverage standards produced by bodies like the Consumer Technology Association and the Interactive Advertising Bureau, as well as suggestions by industry organizations like the Streaming Video Alliance.

“In the early days of Datazoom, I spent a lot of time reading about Netflix’s rise and reliance on collecting data and placing it at the core of strategic decisions and automation systems to sustain long-term growth and optimization. With most other content owners racing to stand up OTT services, the creation and implementation of a data strategy hasn’t been the top priority - until now. We are seeing that almost all content owners are seeking to re-evaluate their approach to data as a way to grow revenue and profitability in 2019,” says Datazoom’s CEO, Diane Strutner.

ABI research predicts the value of the worldwide OTT market to grow at a 10% compounded annual growth rate and reach $51.4B by 2022. Tapping into this potential will require organizations without an established OTT approach to either launch a new, or acquire an existing, video service. For companies planning to start from scratch, the release of Datazoom’s self-service platform facilitates the implementation of a data strategy from day one.

“We’ve made it our mission at Datazoom to enable companies of all sizes to build profitable businesses distributing online video content. We believe the keys to success lie in a better approach to the collection, classification, and control of data. Our self-service platform democratizes access to a technology providing video companies of any size with a data collection and management strategy ‘as-a-service’. We hope any video company can leverage Datazoom to implement data-driven decisioning and automation processes, thereby securing more ‘seats on the sofa’ in front of viewers,” says Strutner.

Datazoom will be exhibiting April 8 - 11 at the annual National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Show in Las Vegas, Nevada.
