Sonic Foundry Announces Integration Services for Mediasite
Sonic Foundry has announced advanced integration features for its enterprise webcasting and lecture capture platform Mediasite. The idea is to help organizations take advantage of new capabilities without a significant programming investment.
The platform now makes more features accessible by API, including scheduling, custom registration, ecommerce, student information systems, and advanced analytics. Sonic Foundry suggests that customers could use the new API functionality to create training portals or course management systems that would help grow lecture capture and streaming video systems within their organization.
Sonic Foundry notes that customer requests for advanced integration to support a wider range of enterprise applications and databases led to the API expansion.
"We look forward to providing a new level of interoperability between Mediasite and the legacy systems prevalent among many of our enterprise clients, as well as new tools emerging daily," says Rob Lipps, executive vice president of Sonic Foundry. "By integrating these now disparate systems and applications, Sonic Foundry helps organizations...further leverage their existing infrastructure to more quickly realize the value of video-based instruction and online training through Mediasite."
Sonic Foundry offered integration tools before this, such as for LDAP and Active Directory authentication, and Polycom and Tandberg/Cisco videoconferencing systems.
