Apple Set to Revolutionize Smart TV Market, Predicts Analyst

Article Featured Image

In the same way that the iPhone revolutionized the smartphone market by providing a vast amount of content, an Apple television could dramatically change television viewing, says Ross Rubin, executive director and principal analyst for connected intelligence at NPD Group, in this video segment.

Rubin explains that the current crop of connected TVs offerers  limited streamed content, thus providing Apple with an opportunity to enter the market.

Today, the Wall Street Journal reported on developments around an Apple television.

Rubin is interviewed in this segment by Maggie Reardon, senior reporter for CNET News.com.

Both Rubin and Reardon participated in a two-hour Beet.TV live webcast produced in the Livestream Manhattan studios on December 14, 2011.
