Frequently Asked Questions
The Conference registration includes full and unrestricted access to all days of the Conference, full online access to the video-on-demand Conference proceedings, all coffees and lunches, free access to the exhibit areas, all of the official networking events and parties and a 1-year subscription to Streaming Media magazine (a US$29.95 value). To register for the full Conference please visit our Conference registration page. The FREE (US$40 at the door) exhibition registration gives you access to the exhibit floor and over 275 cutting edge companies. The hours of the exhibit floor is as follows:

2. Is my registration for the Conference transferable to a coworker or colleague?
According to the cancellation/transfer policy, you may transfer your registration to a coworker or colleague if you do so in writing by November 14, 2000. You may send your request to the Registration Team by email at register@streamingmedia.com or by fax at (888) 301-8895 (US or Canada) or 415-593-4800 .
3. I have moved or changed employers. How do I update my information?
If you are an Exhibition attendee, you can submit your registration online and the changes will be made automatically. If you are a Conference delegate, you may contact the Registration Team by email at register@streamingmedia.com, by fax at 415-641-4445 or by phone at 415-593-4800.
4. I am interested in attending the Conference, but am only interested in attending a specific event. How do I register for the event?
Unfortunately, at this time you may only register for the Exhibition or full Conference. The Exhibition is free if you pre-register or $40 at the door. The Conference fee is $1,595, but if you register by November 1, 2000 you can receive a $100 discount off of the Conference fee! One or two day passes are sold onsite, however there is no guarantee that there will be space available. Showing up onsite for day passes is first come first served and highly risky!
5. I have pre-registered and am now unable to attend. How do I cancel my registration?
According to the cancellation/transfer policy, you may cancel your registration without a penalty if you do so on or before November 14, 2000. If you cancel your registration after November 15, 2000 you will receive a refund minus a $200 cancellation fee. Cancellations must be made in writing to the Registration Team by email at register@streamingmedia.com or by fax at (888) 301-8895 (US or Canada) or 415-593-4800. All cancellations must be received before December 1, 2000 or all Conference fees will be forfeited.
6. I need to make a hotel reservation. Who do I contact to do so?
This year marks the introduction of Convention Management Resources (CMR) as the official housing company for Streaming Media events. Our goal is to expand the number of hotels available to our exhibitors and attendees and to simplify the reservation process. There are seven hotels in the Streaming Media West 2000 group. Reservations at any of these properties can be made through the CMR website, faxing the Hotel Reservation Request Form to (415) 882-5493, or by calling their help desk at (800) 421-2499 or (415) 979-2287.

9. Does the Conference typically sell out?
Yes, the Streaming Media Conferences have continuously sold out in the past. It is highly recommended that you register for the Conference as soon as you possibly can. You can register online now via our registration page.

11.I think I may have registered twice for the Conference. How do I know for sure and whom do I speak to about it?

13. What is the difference between Seminars and Conference sessions?
Seminars are typically additional learning opportunities that take place before or after the Conference and it is important to reserve your space for each seminar. These seminars are free to Conference delegates and can sometimes be purchased separately depending on availability. Conference sessions take place during the Convention and are part of the 4 different Conference tracks that only full Conference delegates can attend. The Conference program provides a schedule of these sessions and you do not need to reserve your space.
