Accordent Technologies to Provide Enterprise-Wide Webcasting Platform for VeriSign

Centralized Multimedia Communications Creation and Management System to Leverage VeriSign® Peer-to-Peer Network

El Segundo, CA (April 22, 2008) - Accordent Technologies, Inc., today announced its selection by VeriSign Inc. to provide a global multimedia communications system that will enable the automated creation and delivery via VeriSign’s Kontiki Delivery Management System of on-demand multimedia webcasts for corporate communications and training applications. The system will enable VeriSign executives and employees to webcast rich media presentations – which include streaming video synchronized with images captured from VGA sources (such as a laptop, document camera and/or e-whiteboard) – to the company’s global employee base, leveraging the VeriSign Kontiki Delivery Management System, which enables the delivery of high quality video over the their corporate network in a reliable, secure, scalable manner utilizing patented peer-assisted technology. The Accordent system can deliver live and on-demand webcasts from VeriSign’s corporate headquarters in Mountain View, Calif., using Accordent PresenterPRO™, Accordent’s highly scalable distributed live webcasting product. VeriSign has equipped five presentation and training rooms in California and Dulles, Va., with the Accordent Capture Station™, the company’s automated rich media capture and publishing appliance. Core to the management and organization of the VeriSign enterprise webcasting platform is the Accordent Media Management System™, a custom-branded portal that catalogs Accordent presentations and other multimedia assets for fast and easy search and playback, and secures and manages assets based on administrative policies and multi-level user access privileges. “Accordent enables us to deploy enterprise-wide webcasting solutions to routinely convert meetings and training sessions into Web-accessible, archived online assets that are then efficiently shared with global audiences using our extremely bandwidth-efficient content delivery network,” said Todd Johnson, senior vice president of global marketing for VeriSign. “Online video adoption in the enterprise is following the same exponential adoption trends we’ve seen with online consumer video,” said Mike Newman, CEO of Accordent Technologies. “Since 2005, most of our largest clients reach the 100-presentation mark within a year of delivering their first Accordent communication. Web-based, multimedia communications rapidly becomes the new organizational platform for creating, delivering, archiving and tracking communications and training initiatives.” VeriSign’s Kontiki Delivery Management System (DMS) provides a suite of software which VeriSign uses to publish, protect, deliver, and measure high quality video created using Accordent's solution for a variety of enterprise applications including CEO all-staff meetings, corporate communications, training, and customer support. The Kontiki DMS allows users anytime, anywhere access to high quality video, rich media, and any large digital files to all employees with minimal impact to corporate networking infrastructure. The Accordent Rich Media Communications Suite is the only automated, end-to-end infrastructure for creating, distributing, managing and measuring the effectiveness of multimedia presentation assets. The company’s rich media creation products include its flagship Accordent PresenterPRO, a live and on-demand webcasting solution with interactive features, such as polling, surveys and moderated Q&A; the Accordent Capture Station, an easy-to-use, room-based appliance that enables anyone to webcast and record high-value presentations that take place every day in the world's meeting rooms, classrooms and boardrooms; and Accordent Engage™, a behind-the-firewall, enhanced audio webcasting system that enables multimedia webcasting from the desktop. The company’s media management platform is the Accordent Media Management System, the first centralized online communications management infrastructure for ingesting, organizing, searching, publishing and securing multi-level access to Accordent presentations and other multimedia communications - including archived web- and video-conferences.
