EmpireDRM Secures Funding From Private Investors Agave Capital Leads Funding Initiative with $150,000 Investment
San Diego, CA (January 2, 2003) - San Diego, Ca. -- January 2, 2003 -- EmpireDRM, a leading provider of Microsoft Windows Media based Digital Rights Management Solutions for the protection and security of on-line copyrighted content, today announced that it has raised some $200,000 in seed capital from Agave Capital, and from other private investors.
The funding will be used to strengthen the company’s ongoing operating, marketing and sales activities, as well as to continue an aggressive strategy of acquisition and development. EmpireDRM’s modular software application called DominionTM offers content owners and producers the ability to protect their copyrighted Windows Media content.
DominionTM locks the digital media content and limits access to those users who have acquired a proper license to play the content whether they get the license from a successful completion of a marketing form or a credit card enabled buy page.
DominionTM offers the first viable solution to prevent the rampart piracy of content and provides a realistic billing solution that captures both user information and secure revenue.
DominionTM was recently used by Microsoft for the Windows Media Series9 launch and provided crucial protection of copyrighted audio files provided by a variety of name brand artists including L.L. Cool J, Jimmy Eat World, Peter Gabriel and others.
