El Segundo, CA (November 19, 2009) -
Culminating a month-long competition, the Accordent enterprise rich media communications platform was voted the industry's best enterprise video platform by the readers of Streaming Media Magazine.
Announcing the Accordent win, Streaming Media Magazine editor Eric Schumacher-Rasmussen noted: "The Streaming Media Readers' Choice Awards are the only awards of their kind in the online video industry. While other awards focus exclusively on content, this is the only awards program that honors the technology that makes it all possible, and it's definitely the only one where the people decide who wins. And this year, more than 5,000 votes were cast for more than 200 nominees. Clearly, people care deeply about the tools they use to get their jobs done."
The competition winners were announced last night at the annual Streaming Media Readers Choice awards reception, a highlight of the Streaming Media West trade show where Accordent is showcasing the newly re-architected Accordent Media Management System (AMMS) v3, and its interoperability with other key enterprise technologies, including TANDBERG videoconferencing, Riverbed WAN optimization, Blue Coat network security and management, and Kontiki peer-to-peer delivery.
"These awards are gratifying for Accordent and our development team because the AMMS v3 is the culmination of a several-year effort to re-design our rich media management system from the ground up using the latest, Microsoft .Net architecture," said Mike Lorenz, Accordent Chief Technology Officer. "We thank the readers of Streaming Media Magazine for recognizing the value of this product as a key innovation that enables them to leverage visual communications for cost savings and productivity."
