Harmonic Named Finalist for TelcoTV 2009 Vision Awards
SUNNYVALE, CALIF. (November 9, 2009) -
At TelcoTV 2009 booth #539, Harmonic Inc. (NASDAQ: HLIT) will feature its comprehensive range of video delivery solutions for telco service providers, including Harmonic's MediaPrism™ Convergence Suite, the industry's most comprehensive suite of tools for real-time and offline content ingest, transformation, distribution and delivery to the TV, PC and mobile devices. Other key demonstrations will include a network personal video recording (PVR) demonstration in conjunction with Minerva Networks, Harmonic's Electra® 8000 multi-format, multi-channel HD/SD MPEG-4 AVC/MPEG-2 compression platform, the versatile ProStream™ 1000 with ACE™ technology for any-to-any transcoding and the Direct-2-Edge™ (D2E) cable IPTV solution, ideal for hybrid cable/telco operators.
Additionally, Harmonic has been named a finalist for the TelcoTV Vision Awards in the "Innovation in Encoding" category. Winners will be announced at TelcoTV 2009 on November 11. Taking place in Orlando, Florida from November 10-12, TelcoTV 2009 is a conference and exhibition for North American telecom carriers looking to investigate, implement, and manage a comprehensive entertainment convergence strategy.

• A live demonstration of Microsoft Smooth Streaming to PCs and IP set-top boxes using Harmonic's StreamLiner® 3000, a solution that enables adaptive bit-rate technology to the IP set-top box and reduces network costs
• Latest generation compression solutions, including the new Electra 8000 encoder and the ProStream 1000 with ACE technology for any-to-any transcoding applications
• A network PVR demonstration showcasing integration between Harmonic's time-shifted TV solution and Minerva's iTVManager
• Harmonic's Direct-2-Edge cable IPTV solution for bringing high quality IPTV services to a cable or hybrid network architecture, honored by Internet Telephony magazine with a 2009 IPTV Excellence Award
