Doug Edwards is founder and executive chairman of zone·tv^®. As executive chairman, Edwards is responsible for zone·tv's product vision and revenue strategy in cooperation with the CEO and the Board of Directors.

During the past 15 years, Edwards built an incredibly talented team and placed zone·tv at the forefront of an emerging cross-section of technology and media for TV entertainment. Zone·tv’s products are available in more than 38 million Pay TV households and the company has established long-term relationships with customers such as Comcast, AT&T, Bell Canada, TELUS, CenturyLink, Frontier, TiVo and many others. Edwards has launched consumer digital entertainment offerings with Microsoft, Intel, Showtime, TBS, MSN, Sony BMG, The Weather Network and many more. 

Edwards’ educational background in computer programming from Centennial College, as well as his continued executive education at MIT Sloan School of Business, has provided the fundamental build blocks in which he used to build zone·tv.  Edwards has been awarded patents in both Canada and the US related to computing and television innovations.

Prior to launching zone·tv, Edwards held executive positions with innovative companies including Hip Interactive, OperEx and Spun Web Designs.

His past service in the Canadian Armed Forces Reserves Regiment, Queen’s York Rangers, provides him with an incredible edge in leadership training and helped him develop raw perseverance.

In his personal time he’s an active animal welfare supporter, serving as the president of the Board of Directors of the Humane Society of Durham Region, Ontario, Canada.
