Silva joins iVAST from Streaming21, a Los Gatos, Calif.-based video streaming technologies provider. As the vice president of North American sales at Streaming21, he built and oversaw the company's sales and support teams. He also developed and managed strategic partnerships, contracts and agreements with companies such as Hewlett-Packard, EMC, Virage, Motorola, Philips, Sony, EDS, Inktomi and Accenture, among others.
Before Streaming21, Silva was the director of U.S. sales and marketing for Hammer Storage Solutions of Newark, CA where he established the company as a dominant force in the entertainment industry, and built an impressive new client base, including Disney, Lucas Film, DreamWorks, Industrial Light and Magic, Pixar, CNN, PDI, Sony, HBO, Universal, Nickelodeon, MTV, NBC, Warner Brothers, Fox Animation Studios, Martha Stewart Living Studios, and more. Prior to Hammer, Silva was director of creative media arts division at Andataco, where he successfully extended the company's storage products into the entertainment vertical.
Throughout his career, Silva has held a variety of creative positions, including vice president of post production and creative director for Lagos Entertainment Group, executive vice president of independent film producer Lambert Industries, president and CEO of Travel Video Media, producer at Leo Burnett Advertising Agency, executive associate at Paramount Pictures, and first AD/director at N. Lee Lacy Associates/Greenbriar Productions. Silva has also established, maintained and managed relationships with Universal Studios, Warner Brothers and 20th Century Fox. Over the years, Silva received seven Emmy awards and seven Clio awards for documentary television programming and commercial spots.
Silva holds a bachelor's degree in communication and theatre from Boston University, and has had over 30 articles published on topics ranging from high speed storage area networks in content creation to new and emerging technology in the entertainment industry.
