Paul Strickland first became involved with streaming media in 1997 when he assisted Telecommunications Inc. with the launch of @Home, one of the nation's first cable broadband ISPs. Broadband initiatives and MSO summits that Mr. Strickland led for CableLabs member companies quickly positioned TCI as an incubator for cable network providers' adoption of emerging broadband media.
In 1999 Mr. Strickland joined AlinQ Broadcast Services, a streaming bandwidth provider and producer of broadcast- enabling workflow management solutions. As president of AlinQ, he oversaw the launch of an Internet rebroadcast platform for local news stations, along with several other applications that leveraged streaming media technology in roles that had not yet been considered, such as real estate marketing and online customer care.
Mr. Strickland currently serves as president of Ando Media, a producer of solutions that enable ad sales & insertion, side channel production, compliance reporting and audience measurement without the need for costly hardware and headcount investments. Ando Media has recently partnered with Net Radio Sales to develop Webcast Metrics, a platform that measures the exact size of an Internet radio audience and converts it to standard radio metrics such as Average Quarter Hour, Cume and Total Listener Hours.
